Protection of biodiversity in forest areas, including the Natura 2000 network - Promotion of best practices



Strategic goals of the project are species preservation, increase of the numerical force and also habitats protection on the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Lublin areas. The project includes predators reduction, remove of the black cherry trees (Prunus serotina) and spruce and fir undergrowth introduction.


The project is coordinating by the Swieradow and Szklarska Poreba District State Forest. The main objective of the project is decrease outflow of water from a bogs, slash forest stand and reduce the stress of a birds.


The project area covers the vast coniferous lowland forest, Bory Dolnośląskie, and the Augustowska primeval forest, where populations of the capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus)  still occur, but are under threat. The project will be coordinating by the Ruszów Distric State Forest.
